Well, Hi,
I'm Kaiser and during the past year i've just started to learn about robotics at school, as our school entered robocup and made it through to the championships. I quite like the look of the robosapien, and am thinking about getting one. does anyone know how it handles stairs? will it try to do down them, cause we have a basment without a door, and i wouldn't want it to get broken!

cheers,
Kaiser A. A.

no stairs
mine will not go on stairs nor anyon elses. neigher one can get up from the front side so it couldnt crawl up em and it has no knees either. so i would just get some sort of thing to strap on its legs and get a robotic thing to take it down to the bottom of the lift

Want a robot that will do stairs? Get a Slinky! One moving part, and it only goes down. Robosapien can only lift his feet by swaying his body, and that's about a 1/4th inch. On the other hand you might get an Asimo for a few million $.

Bipedal stair climbing is a major challenge.
