I bought two to experiment and hack. I was disappointed after reading all the hype. He doesn't walk any more intelligently than the little plastic toy I had back in th 1940s that you put on a slant and it waddled down. The slant in Robosapien is provided by a motor, but it too waddles down. For a "breakthrough" from NASA scientists it's a thumbs down from this reviewer.

it is still a robot even thought it cannot walk well. the big deal about it is that one of its legs is in the air while the other is on the ground. i made a board for my rsv2 for that very reason
For all those lovers/haters of Robosapien 2 here is some news about the upcomming model 3. The makers have signed a contract with another software company to supply R3 with in intelligent program to map its surrounding among other things. This time around R3 will become more automotonous than ever before. If I remember correctly it will also understand and act on some voice commands. We must always remember the begining of any trip or voyage begins with one small step. Bill
Yesteray I went into Borders Book Store and checked out the books on robotics. I bought one but notice that there was one there about hacking the Robosapiens with full details on how to do it. They replaced his feet with wheels and game him a real miniture camera for an eye so no it can really see its enviorment. Just passing along some info. Bill
I want to pass along this information. It is not only about hacking RoboSapien but it is a good bi-monthly robot magazine. For your information I am passing along their web page for you guy to see. There is lots of information to be seen there.

Where can I check these guys out? I've never seen one but i'd like to read up on it, sounds like pretty neat stuff. If you guys are interested there are some pretty cool videos or robots on this site. I like the one about the robot snake they are testing for medical procedures.
hey guys, I just signed up for that discovery contest, if anyone wants to help me out that would be super. just click on this link and click on the banner like once a day or something!
