When I lived in North Hollywood I made frequent trips to All Electronics to find useful parts for proects. Decades ago it was Radio Shack. Now All Electronics is on-line so visit http://www.allelectronics.com/ to see if they have something you can use at a super price.

Thanks for the link. I often wondered why most robot builder who are looking for steper motors don't visit they local auto junk yard. The electric motor that power both windows and seats are stepper motors and have an enormous amount of touque. Remember that sitting a power seat even with three people the motors move you forwar of backwards or even up and down with no appearant strain. These to me are the real workhorses that robot builders really need and are in great abundance at very low prices.
